Garbage

Is anyone on here an emotional eater?

You eat when you are happy? Or sad? Or stressed?

I have found that I have turned into an emotional eater.

Yesterday my whole day was thrown off when I got a phone call reminding me I had forgotten a commitment. I was late. I hadnt eaten anything and I basically threw Nash in the car and we rushed over lickity split.

Well...my healthy food choices arent at the house where I was...so I made a not so great breakfast choice. And one thing led to another because then it was almost 3 PM, and we could finally go home, but Nash and I both hadnt eaten lunch, he was late for a nap, and I was stressed out. I grabbed a Pepsi and drank it...putting me well over my sugar allotment for the day.

I was so mad at myself and stressed about work that instead of exercising, I sat there mad at myself...FOR NASH'S WHOLE NAPTIME! Gah.

Today, I did great at breakfast and was on track to have a great lunch when Nash asked for jack in the box (he never asks for food....) so i looked up taco nutrition facts and decided i could fit those in my meal plan today. I got a side salad as well. I ate about 6 of Nash's fries and my salad and could have been done. But i bought the tacos dang it and so I ate them.

Now, instead of working out, I want to puke my guts out. Too much fried stuff and my tummy is ANGRY.

Tell me this gets easier to navigate. Please?!

Soup

Okay.

Confession.

I don't really like soup.

Shocked? Sorry.

I never have. I'll eat chicken noodle when i'm sick or its cold outside. I like stew--but only if the weather is dreary. I NEVER order soup at a restaurant...if i have a choice i'm getting me a salad.

So when I married Jace, and his family likes soup---adjustment time!

Jace's absolute favorite is his mom's Broccoli Cheese soup with homemade breadsticks.

It took me 2 years, but I can finally appreciate this soup (even if I only will eat it when its cold outside).

Jace got SICK yesterday. And he passed it onto me.

So, i thought, "i'll just whip up some of Kara's soup"....

HA. whip up. Those breadsticks take forever.

BUT i did it. All on my own. And it tasted good. My breadsticks didn't come out like my mother in laws...i'm going to need her to show me her jedi ways.

The soup was like 40 times more than we needed...

So we shared and took a huge bowl over to my parents where my brothers were...i knew it wouldn't go to waste THERE. :)

I still wont make this often.

I still don't love soup.

But its nice to know that I can make it every now and then for Jace and have it turn out.

7th date of Christmas

I went Betty Crocker crazy last night.

I don't know what it was for sure,
but after I made dinner and cleaned that up,
I felt like I should bake some cookies.

We have alot of family stuff going to go on in the next couple of days,
so I thought that i could bring cookies to them.

Jace's favorite is Oatmeal Chocolate Chip...and I really don't like those...
and so they don't get made very often.

So my first batch last night was oatmeal choc. chip, and Jace was happy.

I cleaned my Bosch and got set for batch #2.
Snickerdoodles.
My mom's recipe is TO. DIE. FOR.
delicious.

Cleaned the Bosch one more time for batch #3.
My mom's chocolate chip cookies.
I have PERFECTED this recipe.
It is my favorite.

Jace was there...but playing Halo.
(hes had a rough week, so i let it slide that this was supposed to be a DATE lol)

6th Date of Christmas

Goodie delivering to ward members!!

I spent all afternoon baking banana bread and cookies

so that when Jace got home from work

we would be ready to go!

I didn't realize how many stops we had! (and neither did Jace who grew increasingly more impatient!)

But I'm happy to report that all was delivered and it helped get me in the holiday spirit for sure!!
