Joining the club

Saturday March 19, 2016 at roughly 5 PM, my best friend Troy got married!!

He has been dating Casey for AWHILE now, and I love her, so I wanted that boy to get on the ball and make it offcial!! Well, he finally asked for her hand, and then they spent a handful of months preparing for the beautiful day. 

Troy was my best man at my wedding 6.5 years ago. He has been the guy by my side through everything since i was 13!!! He called and asked if I would be his best maid. Of course I said yes!! Then they asked if Nash would be the ring bearer. OF COURSE YES!!!

The ceremony and reception were held in Troy's parents backyard, that his mother has made into a secret garden. Its very beautiful. Things were relaxed and casual, but still said wedding. Troy's cousin was the officiant, the ceremony started like an hour late, troy mentioned farting in his vows (oh the shame), famous daves catered, and the party commenced!!

I wasnt required to give a toast once the toasting began...but the night before the wedding I had a dream that prompted me to get up there and give a little speech.

You see, Troy and I have always gotten along. We like the same things, we think the same way, our friendship just works. Well, at one point, when we were 14/15 years old...Troy decided to get me the most annoying Christmas gift he could imagine. A screaming rubber chicken from Spencers. That thing got thrown in my closet and I accidentally stepped on it everyday before school, scaring the crap out of me. So, for his birthday 2 years later, I wrapped it up and gave it back to him. For my 21st birthday, Troy painted it like a flamingo and gave it back to me. I have kept that locked away in my cedar chest for 8 years. Surviving my wedding, 5 moves, and a baby. I knew that I needed to save it for something special. And what is more special than a wedding?!?

Troy is threatening to hold on to it until Nash's graduation....haha I dont know if the plastic will hold up that long. Its already been in play for 15 years!

Anyways, because I had my ring bearer baby, I didnt take as many photos as i would have liked. But I did snag a few. Maybe once Casey puts the photos on facebook I'll steal some and put them on this post before I print it out. 

I'm so happy that my best friend found his forever. We really love Casey and think she is the best fit for Troy. And Nash really really loves his uncle troy and aunt casey so much already!! In fact, the first time I met casey was the first time Troy was meeting nash!! Nash was just 6 weeks old. :) We cant wait for them to add in some kiddos so our kids can be best friends...just like me and troy.

**side note** casey got their wedding pictures back and was disappointed in how they looked. she sent me the disc and I edited about 80 of them for her. here are a few that I edited.

I have had the opportunity and privilege of doing hair for all sorts of events and it just makes me happy every time. I love making someone feel beautiful. 

I love getting to share in the excitement of the event. Its awesome.

Katie McGuire

My best friend married her sweetheart yesterday. FINALLY!!! They have been planning this wedding for over a year! I would've gone crazy with all that time, but they did it and it turned out beautifully.

Katie looked like an angel...she was seriously so beautiful.

The ceremony was very nice, Christ centered, and their Pastor was awesome and funny.

Pictures seemed to take forever!!, but hopefully they all turn out just as she wants them!

They had the ceremony, then a cocktail hour, then the toast portion (yes, i gave a toast), then dinner, then the  dancing reception started.

It was a very long, but very fun day. To prove it, my feet are covered in blisters and as soon as I laid down last night--i passed out and didnt wake up until 8 this morning.

I thought that I would include my toast in here...for future posterity...because i'm sure they'll all love to hear about how much their mom loves their aunt Katie and how i cried in front of all of those people while giving it. :)

"Almost 15 years ago, I sat in my English class looking for a friend. I really needed one at that point. We were working in groups and there was one girl that I knew i could be friends with, but I was too chicken to go up and talk to her. Later that day when I found out we were playing in the same orchestra and she played the violin too, I felt like it was fate. I got up my courage and asked her to have lunch with me. We instantly became good friends--discovering a mutual love of Nsync, rainbow sprinkles, CDs, Instant messenger (when it was cool), and a thousand other little things. Over the next 6 years, we became best friends. And if you dont believe me, Katie made these shirts for us one Christmas  that say 'Andrea and Katie Best Friends since 1999.' Our friendship was complete with secret notebooks and even our own language. I never had a sister growing up, and I feel like Katie filled that void in my life. We shared almost every weekend together with pool parties at her house, slumber parties galore, annual Christmas parties at my house, tons of junk food, late night runs to go get ice cream, wondering the malls, and some serious slap happy giggle fits. We've gone through alot together--school, road trips, first kisses, first loves, graduations, illness' in our families, college, and finally finding our own true loves. I don't know Adam very well, but I know he must be a great guy because Katie loves him. And I know he must be a smart guy, because he chose Katie. 4 Years ago, I married my own sweetheart and was so blessed to have Katie by my side--and today I'm proud to be here by hers. I'm so happy that you found one another! Adam, take good care of our girl, shes a special one. And  Katie: allabi lallabove yallabou. Raise your glasses to Katie and Adam!"
